September 6th: the 52nd Venice Biennale, at the Thetis New Arsenal, is the site of a full day of events organized by the international network Cultura21. Lectures, debates, performances, videos and a workshop, entitled “the Cultural Dimension of Sustainability – Towards an Ecology of Culture,”.

June: Cultura21 International opens its own Wiki Webspace as its main online collaboration platform.Visit the wiki to learn more about the network members and the network's activities. The wiki also allows visitors to contribute.

April:The International Network of Cultura21 was launched at the occasion of the conference of the ESA Arts (the arts research network of the European Sociological Association) in Lueneburg and Hamburg (March 27 – April 1 st 2007): website of the conference. The initiative of the Network was presented to the many speakers and conference participants from around the world, and more especially the speakers at the Sustainability stream of the conference who presented their latest research, activities and art projects on the roles of the arts in the search process of Sustainability.

This conference, the first of its kind to focus specifically on sustainability with relationship to the arts, gathered together the founding members of the Network and especially its Arts Networking Stream.
